I have never been happier then i am now... The smile is on me face so much m ore then it ever ever was... its time to share some of the experience with you of what happened a year ago... and here it is... )

So where do we start with the thai moments... well right at the beginning in Heathrow i suppose... crikey isnt it so difficult to actually get out of this country... you have to separate the laptop from ya bag... put in a separate plastic bag, put that through, then the queues to check your passport after that... all to get into crappy terminal 3, thats really gone downhill... we wanted a snack while we were waiting for the gate call and had a horrid pizza and a cup of tea for how much?!

Soon we were boarding.. now mikes not been on many flights at all... one i believe before and that was a journey to Jersey... being a bit of a vet i gave him the rundown on the taxying, engines throttle up, gear up, flaps hehe but i think it helped a bit... we travelled in a lovely Boeing 777... one of me fave planes i've travelled in Before...

It was gonna be a long night and day... 11 hrs 42 to be precise and though i thought the economy leg room was excellent we vowed to upgrade along with using the Docs letter to get us to the front of the cabin... We watched "Walk The Line" and the Ray Charles Story on the way over... with nice food and plenty of soft Drinks...

Soon we were descending... and i was given mike a rundown, there goes the undercarriage, theres the flaps, oooh down we drop and soon we touched down in Bangkok on the sunday afternoon... where it was 36 and humid.... and we've just come from 4 degrees... after passing through passport control where they grabbed our pics with some groovy little digi cams we grabbed the bags and headed off looking for Dr Chets staff...

Noot was there waiting for us, shes one of the nurses and lovely too... she led us to the car park and Dr Chets driver appeared in the big lexus with the excellent air con... as the radio came on out blasted Bon Jovi "welcome to wherever you are" which summed it up really... half an hour down the main toll roads and we were at the Baan Siri checking in and getting comfy...

We quickly popped downstairs to used the internet machines to let people know that we were ok and that we would be in touch with the thai mobile numbers as soon as well had them when we saw Rachel (Drummond) walk past, aha there she is :) She spotted us on the way back in and it was nice to see a familiar friendly face... we sorted out having some lovely dinner later which was nice... outside in the restaurant nearby... where i semi behaved with my soft diet... here we also met another lovely girl, Dannie... who also produces the Dr Chet site... she was a life saver for me later after the op... but thats later on in the story... :)

To explain a soft diet is required around 3 days before surgery with Dr Chettawut, for the bleeding obvious... so that they can easily get it out of your system before they operate... more about that later...

So a lovely meal of fresh grilled sea bass with a starter of mussles cooked in ginger and herbs and a couple of bottles of Singha was had, and we nattered for hours sorting out a shopping trip to Secon Square Mall the next day... with that it was bed for the first time in Bangkok... tomorrow first thing was consultation time with Dr Chet, where we would see what he thought was gonna be happening surgery wise...

To be continued...
